korea

North Korea’s Kim Jung Un is ready to reinitiate talks with the US regarding denuclearization after a period of stagnation. Previously the Trump Administration made history in beginning talks with the North Korean Dictator Kim Jung Un.

The North Korean leader issued a letter-like message to Trump last Friday; however, the contents of the said letter remain unknown according to South Korea’s Chosun Ilbo newspaper.

In addition, Kim reportedly issued an additional letter to South Korea’s President Moon Jae-in stating his desire to hold more inter-Korean summits next year to achieve denuclearization of the peninsula.

Neither the U.S. State Department nor the U.S. Embassy in Seoul immediately commented about the letter-like messages.

Previously, in April of 2018, South and North Korea met for the first time in eleven years. Further, the meeting marked the first time since 1953 that a North Korean leader had entered the South’s territory.

Also, in June of 2018; President Donald J. Trump and Dictator Kim Jun Un held a first-ever summit between the two countries.
